Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br />www.santa-ana.org/parks <br />Item # 11 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />September 21, 2021 <br />TOPIC: Award Contracts for Fencing Construction, Maintenance and Repairs (Spec. 21- <br />083) <br />AGENDA TITLE: <br />Award Contracts for Fencing Construction, Maintenance and Repairs in the Aggregate <br />Annual Amount of $150,000 for a One-year Term with Three, One-year Renewal Options <br />(Specification No. 21-083) (General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award purchase order contracts with Econo Fence, Hillsborough Fence, and J & A Fence <br />for fencing construction, maintenance, and repairs for a one- year period from October 1, <br />2021 to September 30, 2022, with provisions for three, one-year renewals exercisable by <br />the City Manager, in an aggregate annual amount not to exceed $150,000 (total not to <br />exceed $600,000 over four years), subject to non -substantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) General Maintenance <br />Division maintains 44 parks that have fencing as enclosures for sport courts and fields, <br />pools and property lines. Due to the heavy use of the facilities, fences are in constant <br />need of repair and replacement. The notice inviting bids was advertised on July 29, 2021 <br />on the City' s online bid management and publication system. A summary of the bid <br />invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />143Vendors were notified <br />6Santa Ana vendors were notified <br />28Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />6Bids received <br />0Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br />Bids were received and opened on August 24, 2021, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). <br />The bids received from the vendors below are responsive to the specifications <br />and meet the City's requirements: <br /> <br />
