INSURANCE NOT REQUIRED <br />WORK MAY PROCEED <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />)z,N <br />Waymakers <br />SEP ? 1 2021 <br />GUIDING POSITIVE AND LASTING CHANGE <br />N-2021-185 <br />OPERATIONAL AGREEMENT <br />This Operational Agreement will stand as evidence that Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim Services and the <br />Santa Ana Police Department intend to work together toward the mutual goal of providing maximum available <br />assistance for victims of rape and sexual assault residing in Orange County or in an Orange County detention <br />facility. Both agencies believe that the continuation of the Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim Services as <br />described herein will further this goal. To this end each agency agrees to participate in the program by coordinating <br />and providing the following services: <br />Santa Ana Police Department agrees to refer victims of rape and sexual assault to Waymakers Sexual Assault <br />Victim Services for appropriate services. <br />Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim Services agrees to accept referrals from the Santa Ana Police Department <br />and provide appropriate services. All staff are trained, certified crisis counselors with specialized skills in <br />responding to the needs of victims of rape and sexual assault. Specifically: <br />• Respond to the hospital 24-hours seven days a week to provide support to the victim during initial crisis and <br />examination. <br />• Provide continuing support, advocacy and crisis counseling services. <br />• Provide support and accompaniment during the investigation and prosecution of the case in coordination <br />with the Santa Ana Police Department and the Orange County District Attorney's Office. <br />• Assume responsibility in taking the lead on coordinating on -going communication between the Sexual <br />Assault Response Team (SARI) providing training relative to sexual assault issues and program services, <br />maintaining communication and delivering updates through the Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim <br />Services SART advocate at quarterly SART meetings which Santa Ana Police Department is welcomed <br />to attend. <br />• Track and collect client and services' data for any necessary reporting requirements. <br />Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim Services and the Santa Ana Police Department will schedule meetings to <br />discuss referral procedures and implementation of mandated services. A member of the Orange County Police <br />Chiefs' and Sheriff's Association sits on the WaymakersVictim Assistance Program's Governing Board, <br />representing all Orange County law enforcement agencies.
