1. Gas piping design, fabrication, inspection, and testing shall be in accordance with <br />ANSI B31.3. <br />2. Cast iron or semi -steel shall not be used. <br />3. Threaded gas pipe connections may be used on 2-inch nominal pipe size and smaller for <br />piping systems with a maximum operating pressure no greater than 150 psig. <br />Otherwise, such piping shall be socket- or butt -welded. Larger than 1-1/2-inch nominal <br />pipe size shall be butt -welded regardless of its operating pressure. <br />4. Tubing and tube fittings shall be stainless steel. Tube fittings shall be rated for at least <br />6000 psig working pressure. Tubing fittings 3/8 inch or smaller shall be Swagelok or <br />approved equal. Tubing fittings 2 inch or larger shall be Parker Face Seal stainless <br />steel or approved equal. Different or mixed brands of fittings shall not be used. Bidder <br />may use stainless steel pipe and socket welded stainless steel fittings in lieu of <br />stainless -steel tubing and compression type fittings except where disassembly is <br />required for maintenance. <br />5. Stainless steel tubing shall be seamless and bright annealed, ASTM SA 213, type 316. <br />The maximum hardness of the stainless -steel tubing shall be no more than Rockwell <br />hardness of 80.
