9. Cheating. <br />10. Falsifying Institute records. <br />11. Carrying a concealed or potentially dangerous weapon. <br />12. Disorderly conduct, which interferes with the learning process of any other student, <br />instructor, or the general progress of the class. <br />13. Instigation and/or participation in rebellious activities against the Center and/or its <br />student(s). <br />14. Solicitation, which reflects unfavorably upon the Center and/or its students. <br />15. Vandalism of Center property. <br />16. Any form of gang related activity including but not limited to: flashing of gang signs, <br />wearing of gang colors/attire, etc. <br />17. Fighting (physical or verbal) <br />18. Verbal confrontation with any employee and or student and/or violent behavior <br />19. Failure to comply with federal software piracy statutes forbidding the copying of <br />licensed computer programs <br />Disciplinary action may include, but not limited to, a verbal or written warning, probation, <br />suspension, or dismissal. A student dismissed for unsatisfactory or unprofessional conduct may <br />request re -admittance into his or her program by following the procedure set forth under <br />reinstatement as noted in this catalog. <br />Eating in Classrooms <br />Eating and/or drinking are not permitted in classrooms. Unfortunately, due to the necessity of <br />maintain a professional learning environment that respects the rights of all students, children are <br />not permitted on the school premises. <br />Attendance Policy <br />Students are expected to attend all classes and clinical/ ride a -longs learning experiences. The <br />student must adhere to Attendance Policy; specifically policies related to Make -Up Theory and/or <br />clinical hours, ride -a -longs and must abide by the mandatory ratio of 95% theory/clinical hours <br />completed, as compared to the theory/clinical hours offered in each evaluation period of the <br />education program, in order to earn a satisfactory grade. <br />Punctual attendance is required at all class sessions and clinical/ ride- a -long experiences. <br />The Faculty believes that attendance at scheduled classes, examinations, assigned clinical <br />experiences, is crucial to meeting course and program objectives. All scheduled time missed by <br />the student will be considered an absence. When serious illnesses and unexpected life events <br />occur, the Instructor may grant limited excused absences on an individual basis. After an <br />extended illness, the student is required to present written clearance from the physician to return <br />to school. If for any reason, a student is not able to attend a scheduled class, examination or <br />clinical experience, the student should: <br />Call the business office at least one hour prior to the scheduled clinical/ ride a -long or <br />class time. <br />• If calling to report an absence for a clinical/ride-a-long experience, the student must also <br />report to the assigned clinical Instructor/clinical coordinator at least one hour prior to the <br />scheduled clinical time. Students rotating to affiliating clinical agencies will follow <br />reporting off procedures as directed by the clinical Instructor. <br />• Failure to follow the procedure for reporting off from a clinical /ride -a -long experience will <br />result in a notation on the clinical performance evaluation.
