Validates theory and clinical correlation through written test <br />40% Clinical Project <br />Validates theoretical knowledge through clinical applications, and case presentations. <br />Clinical Performance Evaluation <br />The following grading system is used: Pass or Fail <br />A student who fails to achieve a passing grade in the clinical portion of a course, cannot progress <br />to the next module. <br />Clinical Performance is evaluated as: <br />• Satisfactory <br />The student has met the clinical objectives based on course requirements <br />• Unsatisfactory <br />The student has not met clinical objectives based on course requirements <br />Students must demonstrate overall satisfactory performance during the clinical assignments for <br />each content area. Failure to improve performance to Satisfactory, results in an unsatisfactory <br />evaluation. <br />CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT STUDENTS <br />A student who receives an overall unsatisfactory evaluation in clinical performance in any module <br />will be dismissed from the program. <br />Students are evaluated in the domains of cognitive, psychomotor and affective behaviors. Clinical <br />performance evaluations are based on evidence of student achievement of the course's clinical <br />objectives. Clinical objectives will be measured through direct observation (at least 75% of the <br />grade) of actual performance <br />The Clinical Evaluation Tool used in assessment of student achievement of the course's clinical <br />objectives evaluates a composite of skills and must be satisfactorily demonstrated in order for the <br />student to receive credit. At the modules end and completion of each clinical rotation, written <br />clinical performance evaluations are prepared and reviewed with the individual students. <br />Achievement of clinical objectives is reviewed with the student at the end of each clinical rotation <br />day at post conference. Clinical performance pre and post conferences are held by the clinical <br />instructor with the student throughout the rotation. Problem areas are written in anecdotal form, <br />clearly identifying areas requiring improvement. A plan for the right to add any written comments <br />to the original form and copy, dated and signed by both parties, is given to the student. <br />Certified Nurse Assistant Students} upon completion of the course, When the student has <br />completed the Certified Nurse Assistant program she /he can take the American Red Cross <br />Exam. As the student passes the American Red Cross Exam the California Department of Health <br />Services will issue a Certified Nurse Assistant certification. The Certification is mandatory to work <br />in a long term care facility. The Center will then issue the student a Diploma for completion. <br />When the student has received the Certification for the Nurse Assistant, they student can proceed <br />to the Home Health Aide certification with the added theory and clinical for that program. <br />Controlled Substance, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Policy <br />
