It will negatively impact renters, rental -housing providers, and the neighborhoods where they are located, in addition to harming property values, compromising public safety and quality of life, and As a community partner and rental -housing provider in the city, my experience and ability to provide insight could help provide potential solutions tmtenants inneed and would beaninvaluable asset tmthe city inits efforts. However, at NO POINT did the city reach out to SEEK MY INPUT or MAKE ME AWARE that such a proposal was being actively developed. Instead, the city b|indaided me and rnyfellow rental -housing providers with a proposal that: w Oversteps existing state laws and imposes onerous restrictions that affect my ability to provide safe, quality housing tmrnytenants. w Eliminates my ability, and the ability of other responsible |and|mnja' to control and adjust for costs that impact our rental business operations. w Undermines the very nature of existing housing law aa it pertains to the rental industry. I believe that the proposed "City of Santa Ana Community Preservation, Rent Stabilization, Tenants' Rights Act" is q,everely flawed and punitive against rental -housing providers. For these reasons and those highlighted above, I respectfully ask that the city take no further action on this matter until such time as the city can engage in additional r.tudy and engage in discussions with rental housing providers in the city.
