Since the beginning of the Neighborhood Movement, back in
the mid 1980's, the schools in the city have played an important part for neighborhoods to meet and work together in
strengthening their neighborhoods to make them safe and well maintained. The meetings have been used to inform
residents on city issues, as well as important forums for speakers on important issues.

The schools have been available for the past 35+ years and for them to be closed to our neighborhoods would certainly
have a direct negative affect on the neighborhoods' vitality as well as their residents. I would like to urge you to take
whatever measures to retain the usage of our schools to our neighborhoods at no cost or at least a reasonable cost.

Sincerely,
Tom Lutz
City Liaison - Washington Square Neighborhood Association.

CC.
