buildings, structures, or statues. By definition, a park should mainly have grass and large shade trees. Sports are
great for a community, but a limited number of people utilize the space taken up by sports areas such as a golf
course, baseball diamonds, basketball, and tennis courts.

Do you have concerns about the current boundaries of your Ward?
It just so happens I live in Ward 1, very close to the furthest boundary-line on the west-side of Santa Ana. To be
specific, the neighborhood square is defined by the corner of Edinger/Euclid to Brookhurst/Bolsa and is divided
between cities Santa Ana and Fountain Valley. Where approximately 1/3rd of the residents have a Santa Ana
address. All residents want Santa Ana to improve and have concerns with how Santa Ana compares with other
OC cities. Our current district boundaries and Wards should represent the people that reside in Santa Ana. With
changes to our district boundaries our residents are better served by who they vote for to represent them and
change Santa Ana to make it the most desired place to live out of the OC neighboring cities.

Other Comments:
I have attached an image of a map I created called "A Balanced Approach" drawn and submitted on the website
(https://districtr.org/plan/96937?event=santa_ana). The map does not drastically change any of the Wards and
was able to keep the population deviation at 1.45% where each Ward is ~52,000 residents. In addition, attention
was closely paid to neighborhoods with similar demographic, economic, and cultural groups live.

File upload
a-balanced-approach.png 707.43 KB

2
