Describe the Family Festivals are part of a strategy that includes a collection of <br />community benefits free programs that ensure that underserved communities in Santa <br />of this event Ana have access to the arts, the museum, and opportunities to <br />experience and learn more about a variety of different cultures. This <br />group of programs includes things such as free school tours for <br />Santa Ana students in Title I schools that meet CA content <br />standards, free festivals that serve Santa Ana residents of all ages, <br />free admission to the museum for Santa Ana residents on one <br />Sunday per month, and free art classes for Santa Ana seniors that <br />build social connections, fine motor skills, cultural competency, and <br />help to maintain cognitive function. Although the City of Santa Ana <br />supports the administration of the museum building/facility through <br />an annual contract, the Bowers must raise funding to provide these <br />valuable programs and ensure that they can be offered for free and <br />include components to specifically welcome underserved audiences. <br />Free festivals help visitors of all ages to appreciate and gain a better <br />understanding of a variety of world cultures by experiencing these <br />cultures' music, food, visual arts, and performing arts. The festival <br />provides opportunities for families to engage in free recreational <br />cultural activities that offer children and parents/caregivers the <br />opportunity to explore the cultural arts together through interactive, <br />collaborative activities. The Lunar New Year Festival will result in the <br />following community benefits: <br />Outcome 1: By February 28, 2022, provide increased access to <br />cultural experiences through the free Lunar New Year Family Festival <br />for at least 1,625 children and adults that help them to appreciate and <br />gain a better understanding of a variety of world cultures. <br />Outcome 2: By February 28, 2022, provide enhanced cultural and <br />artistic experiences for underserved Santa Ana audiences that <br />increase visitors' understanding of art and culture, and provide <br />opportunities to experience the cultures that celebrate Lunar New <br />Year through music, dance, art projects, food, and visual arts. <br />Amount Requested 5500.0 <br />Proposed Use of The Bowers plans to allocate the funds to event costs, including: <br />Funds 1. Honorarium for performers and musicians who will provide cultural <br />entrainment; face painters; and artists - $4,000 <br />2. Art and other event supplies - $1,500 <br />
