Expressed that it is his aspiration and goal to bring it back to its home in the City of Santa <br />Ana. Stated that he, along with Mayor Sarmiento and Councilmember Lopez will be there <br />with the community. <br />Councilmember Lopez wished all a Happy Lunar New Year. Noted she will attend the Black <br />History Parade and will also try to attend the Tet Parade. Encouraged residents to attend <br />one of the events. Thanked staff for working with her and UAB Foundation where they <br />teamed up to provide free COVID testing in Ward 3, Prentice Park area and the Santa Ana <br />Zoo. Regarding the homeless update thanked staff for working with multi -agencies. Noted <br />that she along with city staff are aware of the ongoing issue on East First Street and are <br />considering options to move forward. Wished all a Happy Lunar New Year and Happy <br />Black History Month. I hope everyone has a good weekend. <br />Councilmember Mendoza announced that the city has a lot of parks available for public <br />use. Announced the grand opening of Thornton that include exercise areas. Wished all a <br />Happy Lunar New Year along with a Happy Valentines friendship week. <br />Councilmember Phan wished all a Happy Lunar New Year and Mt. Spoke on the <br />importance of the holiday in the Vietnamese culture - it focuses on family, it focuses on <br />gathering together and it focuses on a better and brighter new year. Announced the UVSA <br />Tet Festival held on Saturday and Sunday at the OC County Fair. Spoke on the <br />importance of attending to expose ourselves to different cultures. Challenges everyone to <br />be brave in everything that you do so that keeps with the spirit. <br />Councilmember Penaloza wished all a Lunar New Year. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Bacerra announced his monthly office hours this month. Noted he will <br />attend the Tet Parade celebrating the lunar new year. Announced that he had attended the <br />annual UCLA Land Use Law and Planning Conference which provided good updates on <br />legislation and some land use laws. Wished those who are welcoming in the year of the <br />tiger a very happy and prosperous new year— Happy Lunar New Year. <br />Mayor Sarmiento thanked city team along with Daisy Perez, Paul Eakins, Rosa Flores, <br />City Manager, and those who participated in the State of the City Address held on January <br />26, 2022. Wished all a Happy Lunar New Year. He noted the Black History Month Parade <br />and Tet Parade is on the same day. Noted that we need to work with both those groups to <br />make sure the times do not conflict with each other. Wished all a Happy Black History <br />Month. <br />The next regularly scheduled meeting is on February 15, 2022. <br />ADJOURNMENT —Adjourn the City Council meeting and convene to the Housing Authority <br />City Council 21 2/1/2022 <br />
