16. Urban Design Element This Element establishes a long range vision regarding the City's urban form to orchestrate a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing urban environment. This Element specifically addresses outdoor space and building form, and establishes programs and measures to improve the physical setting in which community life takes place. • Coordinate consistency between urban design policies and policy layers, and the zoning districts. Two public realm plans reflecting pedestrian friendly amenities and urban character for major corridors were completed. • Develop an urban design review methodology to implement design policies, layers, and guidelines. The City's Arts & Culture Office is working with its Commissioners to complete a Mural Guideline for publicly -owned spaces, as well as integrating public art into new construction projects.
