Calaveras - Dia de los Muertos. Skulls or "calaveras" are one of the most well known symbols of the Dia de Los Muertos holiday <br />celebrated in late October or early November in Santa Ana. The symbol, whether painted on wood, ceramic, sugar molds, or faces, <br />are meant as a positive symbol of death and rebirth as well as a way to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on. <br />
