This represents a change in how <br />RENEERAMIREZ <br />the Net Cost estimate is calculated, which was previously based on the most recent, trailing <br />DIRECTOR <br />12-month activity and fee revenue levels. Due to the atypical circumstances caused by the <br />OCCOMMUNTFYSERVICES <br />COVID19 pandemic over the last two years, the change in methodology is intended to <br />provide a more accurate estimate of your City's Net Cost for the upcoming fiscal year. <br />TOM STARNES <br />DIRECTOR <br />OC PARKS <br />For the past three fiscal ears 2019-20 through 2021-22 OC Animal Care has maintained <br />P Y ( 9 )� <br />a flat budget totaling $13,673,469. For FY 2022-23, the estimated Net Cost total for all <br />JULIE nUILLMAN <br />Contract Cities and the County will increase by 10.98% to $15,174,996. This increase is <br />COUNTY UBRARIAN <br />directly related to filling critical positions to meet the demand for services. The budget was <br />OC PUBLIC UBRARIES <br />not increased in light of uncertainty due to the COVID19 pandemic despite a rise in the <br />Consumer Price Index (CPI) of approximately 8.49% over the last two years. <br />As stated in the Agreement for Provision of OC Animal Care Services between the City and <br />County, the most recent animal care services fees approved by the County Board of <br />Supervisors on July 17, 2018, shall be used to determine each Contract City's Net Cost of <br />Animal Care Services. <br />Each Contract City's actual Net Cost of Animal Care Services for FY 2022-23 will be based <br />on actual services provided and fee revenue collected during the fiscal year. Therefore, <br />your City's actual Net Cost for FY 2022-23 may be higher or lower than the enclosed <br />estimate.
