Cabrillo at First Mixed-Use Residential
Air Quality, Global Climate Change, HRA, and Energy Impact Analysis
2 19386
SENSITIVE RECEPTORS IN PROJECT VICINITY

Those who are sensitive to air pollution include children, the elderly, and persons with preexisting respiratory
or cardiovascular illness. For purposes of CEQA, the SCAQMD considers a sensitive receptor to be a location
where a sensitive individual could remain for 24 hours, such as residences, hospitals, or convalescent facilities
(South Coast Air Quality Management District 2008). Commercial and industrial facilities are not included in
the definition because employees do not typically remain on-site for 24 hours.

The nearest sensitive receptors to the project site include the existing multi-family residential uses located
approximately 155 feet (~47 meters) northeast (across First Street) and the school use located as close as
approximately 450 feet (~137 meters) east of the project site boundaries. Other air quality sensitive land uses
are located further from the project site and would experience lower impacts.

26/27/2022
Planning Commission 2 –55
