Senior Grant Writer. <br />Dr. Killen secured a $300K Proposition 68 grant from the <br />Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy to fund project <br />design and environmental documentation for the Flint <br />Canyon Trail Restoration Project. <br />Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Proposition <br />68—Grant Writing, City of La Canada Flintridge, CA. <br />Senior Grant Writer. MNS prepared a Proposition 68 <br />grant application for the Flint Canyon Wash Trail <br />Restoration Project. The City was awarded $300K which <br />will be used to prepare final design plans and <br />environmental documentation. <br />San Mateo County Transportation Authority 2021 Cal <br />for Projects, US 101/Holly Street Interchange <br />Improvement Project, City of San Carlos, CA. Senior <br />Grant Writer. MNS prepared a grant application to the <br />2021 SMCTA Call for Projects to fill a funding gap for the <br />US 101/Holly Street Interchange Improvement Project. <br />MNS provided grant writing services which included <br />analysis of various project impacts and benefits. Monica <br />was a key figure in a team of grant writers who prepared <br />the application. The grant application resulted in an <br />award of $10.25M. <br />Federal Lands Access Program Grant, Thornton <br />Avenue Cycle Track, City of Newark, CA. Senior Grant <br />Writer. Monica played a key role in helping manage the <br />MNS grants team in preparing the application and <br />conducting required public outreach. The application <br />resulted in a grant award of $5.4M. <br />CaIOES/FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant, City of <br />Rolling Hills, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS prepared <br />three grant sub -applications and provided preliminary <br />engineering and scoping support. Grant award is <br />pending. <br />Charles E. Meyer Desalination Plan (Desal Plant), <br />Santa Barbara, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS is <br />currently providing technical and grant administration <br />services for the construction of a pipeline that will <br />connect to the existing transmission main that will bring <br />desalinated water to the regional Cater Water Treatment <br />Plant, which is operated by the City of Santa Barbara. <br />MNS grant administration tasks include administrative <br />support for preparation of invoices and payment <br />requests, drafting and submitting routine progress <br />reports. <br />Monica Killen, PhD ) RESUME PG 2 <br />Emergency Deep Aquifer Supply & Storage Tank <br />Project, Castroville, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS <br />grant administration tasks include administrative support <br />for preparation of invoices and payment requests, <br />drafting and submitting routine progress reports. <br />Moss Landing Wastewater System Rehabilitation, <br />Castroville, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS services <br />include project management, technical services, <br />administrative support to comply with loan agreement <br />tasks including reimbursement preparation and drafting <br />and submitting routine progress reports. Project <br />deliverables include Preliminary Engineering Report, <br />Moss Landing Plan of Study, and FAAST Application. <br />Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project, <br />Carpinteria, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS prepared a <br />US Bureau of Reclamation Water SMART: Title XVI <br />grant application for the Carpinteria Advanced <br />Purification Project, The Project includes construction of <br />a 1.0 MGD advanced water purification facility (AWPF) to <br />treat wastewater effluent from the Carpinteria Sanitary <br />District. The project will include AWPF with <br />microfiltration, reverse osmosis, an advanced oxidation <br />process, purified water pump station, 9,000 feet of <br />pipeline, two injection wells, and up to four monitoring <br />wells. The total project cost is estimated to be $35M. <br />Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability, Los <br />Angeles, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS collaborated <br />with LADWP staff and their consultant design team to <br />prepare two grant applications for the North Hollywood <br />Central Groundwater Remediation Project and the <br />Tujunga Groundwater Remediation Project, respectively. <br />Highly technical study documents were interpreted for <br />use in responding to grant application requirements. <br />MNS also prepared project scheduling documents to <br />correspond to grant program requirements. The two <br />projects are part of a historic multiyear effort to remediate <br />contamination in the San Fernando Groundwater Basin. <br />Monica was responsible for organizing work assignments <br />for the grant writing team and contributing to the overall <br />grant writing effort. <br />As -Needed Technical Grant Writing, City of Los <br />Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), <br />Los Angeles, CA. Senior Grant Writer. MNS prepared a <br />Title XVI Feasibility Study for the Downtown LA Recycled <br />Water Project. The MNS grants team completed two <br />Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability Program <br />applications for two sub -elements of the San Fernando <br />Basin Remediation Project.
