OMNS <br />Proposition 68 Statewide Park Program, Greenfield <br />Park and Community Center, City of Greenfield, CA. <br />Associate Grant Writer. MNS prepared a Proposition 68 <br />Statewide Park Program grant application for the <br />proposed Greenfield Park and Community Center. Helen <br />was part of the MNS team of grant writers that prepared <br />the grant application and assisted the City with <br />production of public outreach materials. The grant <br />application resulted in an award of $8.5M. <br />Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project, <br />Carpinteria, CA. Associate Grant Writer. MNS prepared <br />a U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Water SMART: Title XVI <br />grant application for the Carpinteria Advanced <br />Purification Project. The Project includes construction of <br />a 1.0 MGD advanced water purification facility (AWPF) to <br />treat wastewater effluent from the Carpinteria Sanitary <br />District. The project will include AWPF with <br />microfiltration, reverse osmosis, an advanced oxidation <br />process, purified water pump station, 9,000 feet of <br />pipeline, two injection wells, and up to four monitoring <br />wells. The total project cost is estimated to be $35M. The <br />application is pending a decision. <br />Americorps, City of Carpinteria, CA. CivicSpark <br />Climate Fellow. Helen supported the City of Carpinteria <br />in reaching the goals laid out in their Strategic Energy <br />Plan. In this capacity, she communicated and <br />collaborated with agency staff and outside project <br />stakeholders; researched and developed documents, <br />plans, and ordinances; gave presentations to agency <br />staff, City Council, and the community; cultivated <br />community partnerships with other local agencies and <br />nonprofits; and organized and facilitated community <br />outreach surrounding City energy initiatives. <br />Helen Maggitti I RESUME PG 2 <br />Hobart and William Smith (HWS) Colleges Office of <br />Sustainability, Geneva, NY. Student Intern. Helen <br />completed two annual greenhouse gas inventory reports <br />in support of Hobart and William Smith Colleges' Carbon <br />Commitment with Second Nature. Her responsibilities <br />included collecting emission source data and calculated <br />resulting emissions; researching and proposing possible <br />projects to mitigate and offset the colleges' emissions; <br />and communicating with and retrieving data from various <br />departments on campus as well as Second Nature and <br />multiple carbon offset companies. Helen worked <br />independently as well as collaboratively to meet <br />deadlines; assisted the Sustainability Manager with <br />administrative work; and organized and delegated to <br />other student interns and EcoRep positions. <br />Hobart and William Smith (HWS) Campus Greens, <br />Geneva, NY. Club President. Helen hosted weekly club <br />meetings and planned and organized zero -waste dinner <br />events with 50-100 attendees. She managed a two-day <br />clothing -swap events each semester and assigned tasks <br />to other club members. Through advocacy, Helen strived <br />to make HWS and the larger community more <br />sustainable through advocacy, petitions, tabling, and <br />social media advertising. <br />APPENDIX B.
