Honorable Representative s,

My husband and I purchased our first home, a triplex, in 2021 and are proud residents of the City
of Santa Ana. We live in one of the units of the triplex, rent a second unit long-term, and use the
third unit for short term rentals. The income provided to us by the s hort term rental has benefitted
us greatly as first-time homeowners. It has allowed us to reinvest the extra money we have made
in our property and improve it in ways we otherwise would not have been able to afford to do.
We take great pride in our home and a re very hands on about communicating with our guests and
maintaining a clean, quiet, and safe space.
In addition, our short term rental has brought business to the City of Santa Ana, Many guests
have been able to visit stores and shops in Downtown Santa Ana for the first time and have
expressed their desire to return. We also hire other residents who provide the cleaning and
laundry services for our rental. Our busine ss stimulates the local economy which is so important
to the businesses who have had a difficult couple of years due to COVID and ongoing
construction projects.
I do not agree with implementing a policy that would irrationally make all short term rental
illegal. I believe this decision would be a reactionary, blanket a pproach to something that has
been benefitting many in our community. Please hear our voices as members of the community
and do not allow this ordinance to be adopted.

Sincerely,
Priscilla Rosales
