DocuSign Envelope ID: 08E4C7D7-6D31-43F1-8731-2545DB3BB509
Most importantly in reducing our electrical demand, we will aim to LED lights for
our grow. LED lights produce 74 lumens per watt compared with traditional
incandescent grow lights which provide 14 lumens per watt. Thus, we
substantially cut our energy needs. One incandescent light replaced with an LED
light is equal to a savings of over 400 watts (across an 8-hour day, 480 watts
used by an incandescent vs. 68 watts for an LED). Spread over 100 lights,
400,000 watts are saved per day, equating to exponential reductions in energy
needs, and thus carbon emissions from our power use.
• Sustainability
o Energy and water efficiency are not the only elements to an environmentally
sustainable business model, though they are the biggest. We will make a good
faith effort to take the following additional steps:
• Purchase recycled products for all paper and plastic needs, as well as
have a recycling system in place on site to recapture these materials for
reuse
• Use organic, non -toxic chemicals for grow operations
• Encourage biking and public transit use for employees
• Install low -flow water restroom water fixtures
• Smart climate control and light control system (auto -timers, dimmers,
daylight maximization)
• Explore LEED audits annually and the attainment of LEED certification
• Work with our energy provider to purchase carbon offsets, alternative
source energy, and net -zero or carbon sink creation.
• Community Care
o We understand that community contributions can come in the form of time. For
us, this will generally involve efforts to creating a program that sponsors
volunteer hours from employees. We aim to donate up to 20 volunteer hours
quarterly at local Santa Ana organizations — whether civic or non-profit. This
means that employees will be paid at their regular hourly rate for all time spent
volunteering at Santa Ana community centers, hospitals, homeless shelters,
schools, and Santa Ana parks. We will actively encourage individual volunteer
efforts, as well as coordinate employee group volunteer days.
11
