code, as thus amended, together with all other provisions of this article, <br />shall be known as the city building code. <br />Appendices which are adopted pursuant to this section are as follows: <br />Appendix I, Patio Covers <br />Appendix J, Grading <br />Section 2. Section 8-93 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />Sec. 8-93. - Reserved. <br />Section 3. Section 8-96 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />Sec. 8-96. - Time limitation of application (Volume 1, Chapter 1, Division II, <br />Section 105.3.2) <br />Section 105.3.2 is amended to read as a follows: <br />Sec. 105.3.2. Time limitation of application. An application for a permit for <br />any proposed work shall be deemed to have been abandoned 180 days <br />after the date of filing, unless the permit has been issued; except that the <br />Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a <br />period not exceeding one hundred and eighty (180) days upon request by <br />the applicant showing that circumstances beyond the control of the <br />applicant have prevented action from being taken. No application shall be <br />extended more than once. In order to renew action on an application after <br />expiration, the applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan review <br />fee. <br />An application for a certificate of occupancy shall be deemed to have been <br />abandoned 12 months after the date of filing, unless the certificate of <br />occupancy has been issued or the building permit associated with the <br />certificate of occupancy has not expired; except that the Building Official <br />may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding <br />one hundred and eighty (180) days upon request by the applicant showing <br />that circumstances beyond the control of the applicant have prevented <br />action from being taken.
