<br /> These elements, taken together, present the possibility that digital modes of treatment and other
<br /> health interventions may be particularly effective for young people.
<br /> Research into the field of digital mental health interventions is growing and the existing
<br /> information is heavily skewed toward more established modalities (e.g., telehealth, online/web-
<br /> based interventions). Evidence supports the use of videoconferencing as an effective form of
<br /> treatment for youth mental health across a range of problems 35. While many computerized
<br /> programs and internet-based treatment programs were found to be of moderate to high quality, a
<br /> systematic review of the literature found that the inclusion of a therapist or clinician improved
<br /> outcomes in adolescents with depression and anxiety over those that were self-paced 36. Young
<br /> people with a history of suicidal ideation often prefer to initially seek and receive healthcare online
<br /> 37. Even when individuals have strong support systems offline, they may struggle to access that
