CIRCA Nos. 2003-15 through 2003-21 <br />ARC Nos. 2003-15 through 2003-21 <br />April 3, 2003 <br />Page 2 <br />,Analysis of the Issues <br />The structures identified meet the minimum selection criteria for <br />inclusion on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties pursuant to <br />criteria contained in Section 30-2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. The <br />first benchmark for selection requires that structures be 50 or more <br />years old. Based on the results of research, it is recommended that the <br />structure be placed in the Landmark category. The code criteria for <br />Landmark designation is as follows: <br />a. The building, landmark or district is on the National Register <br />or appears to be eligibleto be placed on the register; or <br />b. The building, landmark or district is on the State Register or <br />appears to be eligible to be placed on the register; or <br />C. The building, landmark or district has a historic/cultural <br />significance to the City of Santa Ana; or <br />d. The building, landmark or district has a unique architectural <br />significance. <br />The properties included in this request are as follows: <br />a 2002 North Victoria Drive, Parke House. The Parke House, built in <br />1945, qualifies for listing in the National Register of Historic <br />Places under Criterion C. It also qualifies for listing in the <br />Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties for its intact display <br />of the characteristics of late Colonial Revival style architecture. <br />Additionally, the structure is eligible to be categorized as <br />Landmark for its unique architectural significance illustrated by <br />its central, side -gabled wing clad in painted brick; two side <br />wings, also side -gabled and sheathed with clapboard siding; front <br />gabled roof dormers containing six -over -six, double hung sash <br />windows; and a fanlight with radiating muntins atop the recessed <br />and paneled double entrance doors. <br />• 2003 North Victoria Drive, Cotant House. The Cotant House, built <br />in 1928, qualifies for listing in the National Register of Historic <br />Places under Criterion C.
