Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br />www.santa-ana.org/parks <br />Item # 15 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />April 4, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Agreement with Merritt Studio for Cultura Magazine Design Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve an Agreement with Merritt Studio in a total agreement amount not to exceed <br />$145,000 to provide Graphic Design Services for the Cultura Publication and Additional <br />Design Services as Needed (General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Merritt Studio, LLC to provide <br />graphic design services for the Cultura publication and additional design services as <br />needed, for a three-year term beginning on April 4, 2023 through April 3, 2026 with <br />options for two one-year extensions, and a total agreement amount not to exceed <br />$145,000, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />After completing the second issue of the piloted Cultura: A Community Connection <br />Guide, staff determined that the community impact of the Cultura magazine is far- <br />reaching and brings substantial value as it promotes the programs and services offered <br />by the Library, Parks and Recreation, and the Zoo. There is a need in the community for <br />continued outreach efforts and program awareness. The magazine publication provides <br />the opportunity for these three services to reach residents. <br />The City of Santa Ana issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 22-164 (Exhibit 1) for <br />Cultura magazine design services on issued November 17, 2022 with a deadline of <br />November 23, 2022. A summary of the RFP results is below: <br />113 vendors notified <br />• 16 Santa Ana vendors notified <br />15 vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />• 3 bids received <br />• 0 bids received from Santa Ana vendors <br />City Council 15-1 4/4/2023 <br />
