• Developed preliminary and final design for 6,000 gpm 1X system for PFAS treatment at the N-Wells and 1,200 <br />gpm IX system for Perchlorate Treatment at the Q2 Well. <br />• Provided engineering services during construction for IX equipment pre -purchase and for site construction. <br />KJ I Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District I Canyon Lake WTP Phase 1 <br />Improvements I Ongoing <br />Team: David Ferguson, Steve Diamond, Kajori Purkayastha Project Contact: <br />This project consists of designing improvements to an existing surface water treatment Parag Kalaria, PE <br />plant, Canyon Lake Water Treatment Plant (CLWTP), described as the Phase I Water Resources Manager <br />improvements in alignment with the CLWTP Facilities Master Plan (2017). PFOA and (951) 674-3146 <br />PFOS levels in Canyon Lake exceeded the California Notification Levels and PFOA <br />levels exceeded the state Response Level. KJ was retained to perform a feasibility study to <br />evaluate planning level alternatives for the proposed Facilities Master Plan improvements <br />to the treatment plant. The design effort includes new PFAS treatment as recommended in <br />the CLWTP Site Feasibility Study (2020). The project also includes pilot testing for PFAS, <br />bench testing for cyanotoxins, Preliminary Design, Final Design environmental services <br />(CEQA support), public outreach, and bid phase services. <br />The 9-month pilot study looked at GAC, IX, and the dual barrier combination of GAC <br />followed by IX.
