Kleinfelder Statement of Qualifications for On -Call Material Testing and Special Inspection Services <br />for City of Santa Ana, RFP No. 20-111 <br />SECTION 2. SCOPE OF SERVICES AND SCHEDULE <br />Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services <br />Kleinfelder offers materials testing and inspection services that can significantly reduce uncertainties <br />during the construction process. Our engineers work closely with design professionals and other <br />project team members throughout the project's duration, helping to balance the often -competing <br />elements of time, budget, and quality. Kleinfelder plans to perform materials testing and inspection <br />services to assist the City and on -site construction personnel, in maintaining awareness that <br />workmanship is being performed to the project specifications and that construction materials utilized <br />meet minimum project specifications. <br />The depth of our local team and dispatch system enables us to identify the appropriate staff and <br />schedule to respond quickly (within 4 hours or less) and provide the City with quick turn -around time. <br />Our team is experienced with on -call project demands and works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year <br />to meet project needs. <br />Materials testing and inspection services will be performed by knowledgeable individuals familiar with <br />local soil conditions and construction materials standards and attributes. These services are intended <br />to complement and assist the City throughout construction -related activities and our staff will be <br />responsible for: <br />• Observing the work assigned for conformance with approved design drawings and specifications. <br />• Registering deputy inspectors with the City's Planning and Building Agency prior to the start of <br />inspection. <br />• Furnishing typed field reports daily to the City, building official, owner's representative, <br />construction manager, and other designated persons. <br />• Submitting typed inspection and testing reports to the City's Public Works Agency and the <br />Planning and Building Agency in accordance with Greenbook and CBC requirements within a <br />week after the work is performed. <br />• Bringing all discrepancies to the immediate attention of the contractor, and if uncorrected, to the <br />attention of the construction manager and City representative. <br />• Submitting a final signed report stating whether the work was to the best of our knowledge, in <br />conformance with approved plans and specifications. <br />Kleinfelder has in-house technicians and inspectors that have been certified by the following <br />agencies: <br />• County of Los Angeles <br />• City of Los Angeles <br />• Caltrans <br />• American Welding Society (AWS) <br />• DGS/DSA for Masonry and Shotcrete <br />Inspection <br />• International Code Council (ICC) <br />• National Institute for the Certification of <br />Engineering Technologies (NICET) <br />• American Construction Inspectors <br />Association (ACIA) <br />• American Concrete Institute (ACI) <br />Kleinfelder provides CIA inspection and testing services during construction of numerous projects <br />including public works projects, commercial structures, bridges, mines, roadways, and airport <br />runways. Our supervisory staff under the direction of our Project Manager/Principal Agent will be <br />involved in all aspects of our materials testing and inspection services as well as the safety of our <br />field staff. Mr. Hanna will work with our Health & Safety Manager Mr. Bryan Reese to ensure that <br />our inspectors who perform work in confined areas or at elevated levels shall be certified or <br />trained for confined space entry and have the proper fall protection and training.
