ADVANCED MEDICAL CODING {AMC) <br />In Class <br />Course Description <br />160 Clock Hours / 3.16 Semester Credittunits <br />This One hundred Sixty hours (160), 10-week program is designed to provide the student with the skills and <br />knowledge necessary to successfully perform multifaceted medical coding functions in a doctor's office. <br />Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnostic coding and CPT procedure coding with abstracting patient medical records to <br />gain hands-on experience.. Medical language is emphasized along with medical terminology, anatomy, and the <br />training to perform proficient coding so the student can pass their medical coding certificate. Students are taught <br />how to code using HCPCS, and inpatient PCS coding resources. Extensive computer instruction, lab coding <br />time and lecture is also provided.
