PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN 1 tCONTLA <br />In -class <br />Completion of this course could lead to a position in a clinical laboratory, Hospital, Clinic, Medical Group, <br />Research Company, Mobile Insurance Company, or Physician's Office. <br />Job Titles include: Phlebotomy Technician I <br />SOC CODE: 31-9097 <br />Prerequisite: Student must have a high school diploma or GED prior to enrolling in this course, and no felonies <br />or misdemeanors (See below). Prior to externship, student must have First Aid/CPR card. HSTi can refer <br />students to an outside vendor for a special discounted fee. <br />Requirements for State Certification/Licensure: <br />• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid High school diploma or GED <br />• Must complete a State of California, Department of Health Services approved minimum of 80 hours <br />Basic & Advanced Phlebotomy course that includes a mandatory forty (40) hour externship and students <br />must have 100% attendance in order to graduate. <br />• Applicants with misdemeanors and/or felonies are approved on a case by case basis and must be <br />disclosed on the attestation page. <br />Class Size: The Phlebotomy Technician course is conducted only as an "in -class" course. The maximum <br />number of students is 24 or under at each campus. <br />Equipment/Supplies include: Two sets of scrubs, NHA Phlebotomy Technician National Exam, and State license <br />fees. <br />29 <br />
