• ;MODERN T�OHNOL,OGY SCHOOL - SCHOOL CA7'AL,OG • <br />STUDENT SERVICES POLICIES <br />STUDENT ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT: <br />Students are routinely provided with notice of academic progress. Areas of concern, if any, are noted, <br />and recommendations for improvement are identified. <br />Students are directed to the appropriate Program Director to discuss matters of concern, develop plans <br />for improving performance, and meet required standards. The Program Director will arrange for a <br />meeting with the student to advise them on their overall performance and discuss the specific areas <br />identified in the student's progress reports. A program of remedial assignments or make-up work will <br />be identified and agreed upon to correct any deficiencies noted. <br />PERSONAL ADVISEMENT: <br />Any students experiencing personal or financial problems are directed to the appropriate person for <br />possible assistance and advice. Financial issues are directed to the Financial Aid Director. Matters of a <br />personal nature are required either to the Program Director or Campus Director forassistance. <br />School Directors will offer assistance and advice to the student related to personal problems whenever <br />possible in keeping with the policies of the school and the requirements of the specific program in which <br />they are enrolled. When appropriate, students will be referred to the social service agencies that <br />address their particular need for assistance. <br />STUDENT RECORDS: <br />All student files, including educational and financial records, are securely maintained and protected <br />against unauthorized access, fire, and other perils. Active and inactive files are retained in the <br />administrative offices for a minimum of five (5) years. <br />The Registrar is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of student records other than the <br />financial records and the supervision and monitoring of attendance and any Leave of Absence. The <br />Financial Aid Director is responsible for the student's financial records. Computer records are <br />maintained for all student files. The Accounting Manager maintains computerized student accounts and <br />financial records and secures them against unauthorized access. <br />CAREER PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE: <br />The school assists all graduates with theirjob search at no charge. As a matter of ethics, no school can <br />guarantee placement or starting salaries. However, Modern Technology School has been a source of <br />competent, skilled medical personnel for the community that we serve since its founding in 1981. <br />All graduates must meet with the Career Services Coordinator for resume and future career <br />development referrals. The School maintains an active list of employment opportunities and shares this <br />information with graduates. The school performs a post -graduate survey and maintains verifiable <br />records of the initial employment of its graduates. An annual report entitled "Performance Fact Sheet" <br />is published to provide up-to-date statistics on graduation, state examination, and employment rates <br />for the previous calendar year. <br />i <br />40 <br />
