D. UNDERSTANDING OF NEED
PROJECT UNDERSTANDING
Verde Design understands that the City of Santa Ana (City),
Public Works Agency is seeking proposals from qualified firms
to provide on -call landscape architectural services to perform
a variety of services, including but not limited to the delivery
of projects potentially on all levels, ranging from site specific
master planning, concept planning, feasibility studies, design,
contract document development bid advertisement and
construction support.
To help the City accomplish their future goals and projects, we
have hand -selected a team with specialized public recreational
and athletic facility knowledge, problem -solving experience,
and a history of successfully working together on an extensive
list of projects for various agencies with similar scope to the
City's anticipated projects. We recognize the importance
of building and developing new and ongoing relationships
throughout your projects, and are committed to maintaining a
consistent proposed project team. Please see below for Verde
Design's approach to projects.
PROJECTAPPROACH
Verde Design believes that the key to developing successful
projects begins with a simple, but clear, philosophy.
Investigate, Listen, Understand, and Recommend are the
core elements of our project approach. Beginning with our
initial kick-off meeting with City staff, we will learn more about
the proposed project and better understand your goals.
This framework is critical to ensure consistent and clear
communication is established between our team and City staff
Investigate - The first step to the success of a project begins
with solid investigation. We would review existing documents
and plans. On recreational projects, we will conduct a site
visit with City staff to understand and analyze the existing
conditions of the facilities. This will ensure that we fully
understand the project's parameters and constraints, as well
as the existing site conditions. This site analysis effort will
be utilized throughout the duration of the project, enabling
educated and effective decisions to be made at the beginning
of the design phase and throughout the project.
Listen - A key element to project success, we emphasize the
importance of listening to all project stakeholders' concerns
and desires. Our team will provide options and incorporate
guidance provided by City staff, including maintenance and
operations staff, user groups, advisory bodies, and members
of the community, and communicate this back to the project
team. The result of our focus on listening is a cohesive team
that works together on a shared path of understanding with
your goals in mind, resulting in smooth running projects.
Understand -As we mentioned, we use all information
available to develop design solutions that respond to our
client's project needs, including site constraints, City staff
direction, community feedback, and the allocated budget.
Based on input from the kick-off meeting with staff and the site
walk, we will develop construction documents.
Recommend - Using your clear and approved concept, we
will render the project's vision into a complete, biddable set
of construction documents. The Verde Design team will draw
upon past successes with our extensive recreational City
projects, including surrounding City projects and knowledge
of recreational and athletic facility design and construction to
seamlessly facilitate the construction document phase.
r LADS PEA "HITECU- ENGINEERING -SPORT PLANN G & DESIGN J e
