BS DEGREE <br />PROGRAM LENGTH ................................. 150 WEEKS 138 MONTHS) <br />QUARTER CREDIT UNITS .................................................. 182 UNITS <br />CLOCK HOURS............................................................. 2340 HOURS <br />EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OBJECTIVES & PROGRAM <br />DESCRIPTION <br />The goal of the Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree <br />program Is to produce well-rounded electrical engineers or <br />technologists prepared for entry-level careers in electrical <br />engineering or related disciplines. The program educates In the <br />utilization and application of the fundamentals of engineering, <br />math and sciences to create solutions that harness the power of <br />electricity and magnetism to address challenges in a variety of <br />industries such as manufacturing, transportation, construction, <br />business, healthcare and other sectors. The educational program <br />objectives are as follows: <br />1. Establish and develop a career in engineering or <br />technologist related professions that involve the <br />design, development, Implementation or improvement <br />of electrical systems to achieve organizational goals. <br />2. Collaborate with others and efficiently function as <br />members or leaders of engineering or multidisciplinary <br />teams. <br />3. Continue to develop skills in engineering, business, <br />management or other electrical engineering related <br />fields. <br />4. Effectively adapt to the changing demands in the <br />workplace and perform increasingly complex tasks, <br />Including tasks outside a field of expertise, <br />STUDENT OUTCOMES <br />The student outcomes of the Bachelor of Science Electrical <br />Engineering are for Its graduates to attain the following: <br />1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex <br />engineering problems by applying principles of <br />engineering, science, and mathematics <br />2, an ability to apply engineering design to produce <br />solutions that meet specified needs with consideration <br />of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, <br />cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors <br />3. an abllity, to communicate effectively with a range of <br />audiences <br />4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional <br />responsibilities in engineering situations and make <br />informed judgments, which must consider the impact <br />of engineering solutions in global, economic, <br />environmental, and societal contexts <br />S. an ability to function effectively on a team whose <br />members together provide leadership, create a <br />collaborative and inclusive environment, establish <br />goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives <br />6, an ability to develop and conduct appropriate <br />experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use <br />engineering judgment to draw conclusions <br />7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as <br />needed, using appropriate learning strategies. <br />MODE OF PROGRAM DELIVERY <br />This program is delivered in either blended or a distance <br />learning modality. Students decide which modality to complete <br />the program at the time of enrollment contingent on program <br />availability. When delivered in a blended modality, some courses <br />are delivered residentially at the campus whereas other courses <br />are delivered online only. When delivered in a distance learning <br />modality, all courses are delivered online. Courses delivered <br />residentially at the campus may have an asynchronous didactic <br />learning component integrated into the curriculum (i.e. online <br />materials to support the courses residential delivery). Courses <br />delivered online utilize both asynchronous and synchronous <br />methods. The school reserves the right to change the mode of <br />delivery for any course if necessary, Including the extent to which <br />asynchronous and synchronous instructional methods are utilized <br />for delivery through distance learning. The program objectives <br />and outcomes remain the same regardless of the mode of <br />program delivery. <br />O*NET SOC OCCUPATIONS <br />0*NET is a taxonomy of hundreds of occupations and an online <br />resource for occupational Information. It is being developed <br />under the sponsorship of the US Department of Labor.
