The program educates in the design, <br />implementation, deliverance and management of computer <br />networks and information systems to support organizational <br />business processes. The educational program objectives are as <br />follows: <br />1. Establish and develop a career In Information systems <br />or information technology related professions or <br />functions within an organization. <br />2. Collaborate with others and efficiently function as <br />members or leaders of a technical and multidisciplinary <br />team. <br />3. Continue to develop skills in information systems, <br />business, management or other fields requiring the use <br />of information systems to achieve organizational goals. <br />4. Effectively adapt to the changing demands of the <br />workplace and perform Increasingly complex tasks <br />while taking Into consideration changes in information <br />systems practices. <br />STUDENT OUTCOMES <br />The student outcomes of the Bachelor of Science Information <br />Systems are for Its graduates to attain the following: <br />1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply <br />principles of computing and other relevant disciplines <br />to identify solutions. <br />2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing -based <br />solution to meet a given set of computing <br />requirements in the context of the program's <br />discipline. <br />3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional <br />contexts. <br />4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make <br />Informed Judgments in computing practice based on <br />legal and ethical principles. <br />5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team <br />engaged in activities appropriate to the program's <br />discipline. <br />MODE OF PROGRAM DELIVERY <br />This program Is delivered In either blended or distance <br />learning modality. Students decide which modality to complete <br />the program at the time of enrollment contingent on program <br />availability. When delivered in a blended modality, some courses <br />are delivered residentially at the campus whereas other courses <br />are delivered online only. When delivered In a distance learning <br />modality, all courses are delivered online. Courses delivered <br />residentially at the campus may have an asynchronous didactic <br />learning component integrated Into the curriculum (i.e. online <br />materials to support the courses residential delivery). Courses <br />delivered online utilize both asynchronous and synchronous <br />methods. The school reserves the right to change the mode of <br />delivery for any course if necessary, including the extent to which <br />asynchronous and synchronous instructional methods are utilized <br />for delivery through distance learning. The program objectives <br />and outcomes remain the same regardless of the mode of <br />program delivery. <br />O''NET SOC OCCUPATIONS <br />O*NET Is a taxonomy of hundreds of occupations and an online <br />resource for occupational Information. It Is being developed <br />under the sponsorship of the US Department of Labor. To learn <br />more, visit www.onetcenter.org. <br />The program primarily provides training for the following O*NET <br />SOC Occupation: <br />15-1142.00 Network and Computer Systems Administrators <br />In addition to the O*NET SOC Occupation listed above, the <br />program may also provide training for the following additional <br />O*NET SOC Occupations: <br />15-1152.00 Computer Network Support Specialist <br />11-3021.00 Computer and Information Systems Managers <br />15-1199,02 Computer Systems Engineers/Architects <br />15-1122.00 Information Security Analysts <br />Page 52 of 69 <br />
