01 <br />wo��E E 0 R HpG��z <br />Fighting for a future of abundant housing in orange County. <br />peopleforhousing,org <br />o-ogcanes <br />Honorable Valerie Amezcua <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza <br />Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />June 14, 2023 <br />RE: City's Exemption from AB 2011 and SB 6 <br />Dear Mayor Amezcua and Members of the City Council, <br />People for Housing Orange County advocates for more housing production, <br />especially affordable rental and attainable workforce housing and first-time <br />homebuyer opportunities. We envision an equitable Orange County where <br />every person has access to stable, affordable housing nearjobs, community <br />services and high -quality educational opportunities. <br />The housing shortage is dire, and we need cities to create approval pathways <br />for affordable and workforce housing as expeditiously as possible. That is the <br />intention behind AB 2011 and SB6- to facilitate development of housing on <br />sites currently zoned for commercial with expedited review while ensuring a <br />significant portion of those homes are affordable to low income residents. <br />People for Housing OC has an interest in seeing these laws perform because <br />delays in housing production impact everyone, but most assuredly the 75% of <br />low-income residents who qualify to live in affordable housing or for housing <br />01-1 <br />
