Da Science{Entry vel) Y " <br />General Course Description <br />The need for IT departments and Business Units to monitor and analyze data is increasing daily. There is currently an unprecedented demand <br />for the skills required to manage and leverage large data sets into a competitive advantage. Our curriculum is designed to meet the expanding <br />needs for data scientists who are skilled in the utilization of a unique blend of software and LEAN Six Sigma methodologies. Professionals <br />completing our certificate program will understand how to automate methods of collecting and analyzing data and utilizing the findings to create <br />a lean business environment along with discovering cost saving insights that can profoundly impact the success of any business. <br />Audience <br />This program is intended for entry level to professionals in a variety of industries and job roles who will help their organization understand and <br />leverage massive amounts of diverse data they collect. <br />Admissions Requirement: See Page 288 "Admissions Process" <br />Minimum of prior education: Basic knowledge of PC desktop operation or equivalence <br />Minimum graduation requirements: Attendance 80%, Exams passed at 70% <br />Instruction Mode: Classroom, Online, Hybrid <br />Prerequisites <br />Basic knowledge of PC desktop operation or equivalency <br />Acquired Skills <br />Students will master Excel from learning to navigate the User Interface to using the software for Data Mining, Machine learning and predictive <br />analytics utilizing toolsets including SWL Server Analysis Services and Power Pivots and Pivot Tables. Microsoft Access will be used to <br />manage data including creating a new database, constructing tables, designing forms and reports. Students will be able to expand their <br />knowledge of database design, write advanced queries, structure existing data, share data across applications, and customize reports. <br />Students will create a basic report by connecting to a database and modifying the reports presentation. Information is critical to making sound <br />business decisions. The Capstone of the program is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Course. In this course students will be introduced to Lean <br />Six Sigma Principles and Terminology. They will learn the Roles and responsibilities of a Lean Six Sigma Organization. The value of Stream <br />Maps will be presented along with Assuring elimination of wastes and streamlining processes.
