There is currently an unprecedented <br />demand for the skills required to manage and leverage large data sets into a competitive advantage. . Professionals completing our certificate <br />program will understand how to automate methods of collecting and analyzing data and utilizing the findings to create a business <br />recommendation. <br />Admissions Requirement: See Page 288 "Admissions Process" <br />Minimum of prior education: Basic knowledge of PC desktop operation <br />Minimum graduation requirements: Attendance 80%, Exams passed at 70% <br />Instruction Mode: Classroom, Online, Hybrid <br />Prerequisites <br />Basic knowledge of PC desktop operation <br />Acquired Skills <br />Students will master Excel from learning to navigate the User Interface to using the software for Data Mining, Machine learning and predictive <br />analytics utilizing toolsets including Analysis Services and Power Pivots and Pivot Tables. Microsoft Access will be used to manage data <br />including creating a new database, constructing tables, designing forms and reports. Students will be able to expand their knowledge of <br />database design, write advanced queries, structure existing data, share data across applications, and customize reports. Students will create <br />a basic report by connecting to a database and modifying the report's presentation. Information is critical to making sound business decisions. <br />Understand the role of the business analyst. Acquire a solid understanding of the various tasks/activities that comprises business analysis. <br />Recognize the pre and post project business analysis activities. Develop requirements for software -intensive systems using proven <br />methodologies. Build a use case -based requirements model Write user stories and brief, casual, fully developed use cases Validate <br />requirements, manage the changes and keep traceability Learn how to initiate a root cause analysis and gather data for investigating process <br />and non -process incidents. Apply powerful techniques to identify and know the difference between symptoms and root causes Learn how to <br />avoid future incidents by developing appropriate recommendations to address causal factors and root causes. Develop a process to identify <br />systemic problem areas.
