2023-24 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />2. Proposed Program: (1 page max) <br />A. Provide an overview of the program's main objectives. <br />The WIOA program at OCCTAC is an extension of our current educational services provided to <br />older youth to empower and provide life -changing opportunities for all youth. OCCTAC has <br />been working with WIOA participants since 2005. The program will continue to provide 13 out <br />of 14 WIOA elements: educational services, job training, paid work experience, adult <br />mentoring, literacy & math tutoring, career & educational counseling, occupational skills <br />training and education, supportive services, certificate programs, leadership opportunities, <br />comprehensive counseling, financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills training, labor market <br />information, and activities to help youth prepare for post -secondary education and follow-up <br />services. OCCTAC staff will refer participants to alternative secondary school services with <br />College and Career Preparatory Academy (CCPA) or Santa Ana College School of Continuing <br />Education. <br />The program will take place primarily at our community -based center in Santa Ana. Participants <br />will engage in a variety of educational and job training activities, including classroom and <br />workshop instruction. All participants will be required to meet individually with key staff, <br />participate in daily and weekly educational trainings, and weekly workshops. In addition, WIOA <br />participants will also engage in weekly "hands-on" work experience and job training <br />opportunities at our agency and other offsite job trainings in the community.
