2023-24 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />After School Arts <br />The ASA for Life program provides artistic training in the <br />Monday — Friday <br />Program <br />fields of Music, Visual Arts, Dance, Musical Theatre, and <br />3:30 pm — 8:00 pm <br />Technology training to at -risk youth, and children with <br />and Saturdays <br />disabilities in the community. <br />9:00 am-4:00 pm <br />Therapeutic Arts <br />This program serves children and youth with disabilities of <br />Monday— Friday <br />Program <br />all ages and special needs, including: learning disability, <br />3:30 pm-8:00 pm <br />health Impairments, physical disability, developmental <br />Saturdays <br />disabilities and others. <br />9:00 am —4:00 pm <br />Learning Academy & <br />This program provides homework support and tutoring to <br />Monday— Friday <br />Tutoring Program <br />students (ages 5 —16 yrs.) in Language Arts (reading and <br />4:00— 8:00 pm <br />writing), math, and other academic subjects. <br />Saturdays <br />9:00 am — 5:00 pm <br />OCCTAC <br />This program provides outreach, prevention, referrals and <br />Monday — Friday <br />Family Wellness <br />engagement with individuals at -risk of mental health <br />8:00 am — 8:00 pm <br />Program <br />problems. Other support services Include parenting, <br />and weekends <br />counseling, and support groups. <br />Senior Socialization <br />This program provides early intervention and socialization <br />Monday— Saturdays <br />Program <br />activities to older adults at -risk of mental health problems. <br />8:00am—4:00pm <br />Services are provided at OCCTAC and various Senior Centers <br />in Santa Ana. <br />B. Special consideration will be given to organizations that can prepare youth for targeted <br />in -demand industries: 1. Manufacturing, 2.Information Technology, 3. Healthcare, 4. <br />Hospitality/entertainment. OCCTAC's Youth employment program prepares youth in 3 of <br />the 4 targeted in -demand industries identified. 1) Healthcare, 2) Technology and 3) <br />Hospitality/Entertainment. In addition, we have an excellent community partner (Rancho <br />Santiago Community College - See letter of commitment), that will hire our Youth <br />Employment Program participants as "Interns" and then as Employees! The Executive <br />Director has been working closely with RSCC district staff to create a "Pathway from Non - <br />Credit to Credit Courses" for our YEP participants so they can get their degrees, State <br />Certificates and also get hired by RSCC to become Instructional Assistants for their Child <br />Development Centers throughout Orange County! We are very excited about this great <br />opportunity for our Santa Ana young adults that are eager to get jobs in the Childcare. <br />C. Special Consideration for organizations that offer job training/preparation in the industries <br />of: STEAM, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security. OCCTAC <br />offers job training and preparation in technology industries mentioned above, and some of <br />our WIOA youth have also received Google certifications to help them succeed in this <br />competitive market. Our Technology instructor has been supporting these interests of our <br />youth during the past couple of years. <br />D. Special Considerations for organizations that offer work experience related to certificated <br />programs offered by postsecondary institutions. OCCTAC has a very strong partnership with <br />RSCC and SAC instructors. They provide certificated programs at OCCTAC to help our youth <br />succeed and accomplish State Certificate programs. <br />E.
