IEC's history dates back <br />to 1982 when United Electronics Institute was <br />founded in Los Angeles County, California. In <br />1989, the corporation expanded to become <br />United Education Institute (UEI) to reflect the <br />addition of a broader range of training programs <br />in the career education field. <br />In 1998, IEC completed the acquisition of <br />Advanced Career Training (ACT), a career school <br />business that has been delivering quality, career - <br />focused academic programs since 1975. ACT <br />became United Education Institute (UEI) in <br />January, 2010. <br />In 2009, the eight Southern California United <br />Education Institute campuses became UEI <br />College to further expand their program offerings <br />and Include degree granting curriculum. <br />International Education Corporation acquired the <br />American Auto Institute in Cerritos, California in <br />July of 2009. This campus officially became a UEI <br />College location in August 2009 and relocated to <br />Gardena, California, where it welcomed Its first <br />students in January 2011. <br />In July 2010, IEC acquired MCed College in <br />Fresno, California and converted this campus to <br />UEI College. In December of 2012, the Van Nuys <br />campus moved to a new location in Encino, <br />California. <br />Today, IEC, which operates subsidiaries United <br />Education Institute, UEI Fresno/IEC Holdings, <br />Inc. and IEC/AAI Holdings, Inc., operates a total <br />of fourteen UEI College campuses in the states <br />of California and Arizona and a United Education <br />Institute campus in Morrow, Georgia. <br />UEI College's first campus was established in <br />Van Nuys, California in October of 1983. Since <br />then, additional Southern California sites have <br />opened, including campuses in Huntington Park <br />(September,1989), Ontario (June,1997), Chula <br />Vista (August,1999), West Covina (March 2005), <br />San Marcos (March 2010), Anaheim (March <br />2010), Gardena (January 2011), Riverside <br />(March 2011), Stockton (September 2011), and <br />Bakersfield (March 2012). UEI College's main <br />campus is the Huntington Park location. <br />In late 2014, UEI College added two new <br />locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Houston, <br />Texas.
