reviewed, and approved prior to the start of a <br />student's program using an unofficial or <br />official transcript. Credit will only be awarded <br />after official transcripts have been received. <br />Students who do not agree with the <br />evaluation of transfer credit awarded by the <br />school may file an appeal within three (3) <br />calendar days after receiving the completed <br />Transfer of Credit Application. <br />Veteran's Credit for Previous Education <br />or Training <br />Students must report all education and training. <br />The school must evaluate and grant credit, if <br />appropriate, with the training time shortened, the <br />tuition reduced proportionately, and the VA and <br />student notified. <br />NOTICE CONCERNING <br />TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS AND <br />CREDENTIALS EARNED AT OUR <br />INSTITUTION <br />The transferability of credits you earn at UEI <br />College is at the complete discretion of an <br />institution to which you may seek to transfer. <br />Acceptance of the diploma or certificate you earn <br />in the educational program Is also at the complete <br />discretion of the institution to which you may seek <br />to transfer. If the credits, diploma, or certificate <br />that you earn at this institution are not accepted <br />at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you <br />may be required to repeat some or all of your <br />coursework at that institution. For this reason, you <br />should make certain that your attendance at this <br />institution will meet your educational goals. This <br />may include contacting an institution to which you <br />may seek to transfer after attending UEI College <br />to determine if your credits, diploma, or certificate <br />will transfer. <br />The school will provide guidance, a transcript, <br />catalog, syllabus, and course descriptions for any <br />student interested in transferring to another <br />institution. <br />English as a Second Language (ESL) <br />Instruction and English Language <br />Proficiency Information <br />UEI College does not offer ESL instruction and <br />does not require proof of English language <br />proficiency; however, all instruction will occur in <br />English. Therefore, all students must be able to <br />read, write, speak, understand, and communicate <br />in English. An applicant's Proof of Graduation <br />(POG) in the form of a transcript or diploma or <br />proof of high school equivalency will indicate <br />19 <br />English proficiency. Additionally, passing the <br />Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) or the <br />Accuplacer Test will demonstrate English <br />proficiency. <br />Pregnancy <br />The program you enroll in may be physically <br />demanding. As a student in that program, you <br />are expected to participate in all lab sessions to <br />earn lab grades in your modules. Failure to do so <br />will result in a failing grade for the module(s) <br />and/or being dropped from the program. In the <br />event a student is pregnant at time of enrollment <br />or becomes pregnant during the program, the lab <br />requirement will not be waived. The pregnant <br />student must provide a doctor's note of release <br />as a condition to participate in lab work. A <br />pregnant student will not be permitted to <br />participate in the required lab work without a <br />doctor's release. The school will take reasonable <br />steps to accommodate a pregnant student who <br />has provided the school with a doctor's release. <br />Additionally, in the event the baby is delivered <br />during your enrollment period, the school will <br />require a doctor's note of release to return to lab <br />work. A Leave of Absence (LOA) may be granted <br />pursuant to a student's written request and <br />eligibility for a leave; however, the LOA must be <br />approved by the school's administration prior to <br />the leave. <br />Articulation Agreements <br />UEI College does not currently have articulation <br />agreements with other institutions. <br />IEC is contracted with C41- and Brookshire <br />International Academy, which are providers of <br />adult education services to UEI College students <br />that qualify to participate In the Eligible Career <br />Pathway Program. <br />Program Tuition and Fees <br />There is no registration fee for any program. Any <br />tuition paid will be returned to all students who <br />cancel their enrollment within three (3) business <br />days from the date the enrollment agreement was <br />signed at the following locations: Bakersfield, <br />Fresno, Gardena, Riverside and Sacramento. In <br />the event where the school cancels the program, <br />any tuition paid by the student will be refunded. <br />Additional fees which might be incurred during <br />your period of enrollment include the following: <br />Additional copies of Official Transcripts $30 <br />Additional Official Diploma $30 <br />Additional unofficial transcripts $5 <br />Education Verification $2 <br />
