Medical Office Specialist <br />Instructional Weeks: <br />Normal Time to Complete: <br />Delivery Method Offered: <br />Program Objective <br />Course Descriptions <br />Medical Office Specialist <br />Diploma <br />36 <br />41 <br />Hybrid and In -Residence* <br />Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared for an entry-level position as a medical office <br />specialist, administrative medical assistant, electronic health record specialist, medical records technician, <br />and medical secretary. Students are trained in the health care fundamentals, including infection control, <br />vital signs, patient rights, federal and state regulations, and emergency procedures, including CPR. <br />Students are trained in the office management tasks, insurance processing, coding, and billing, <br />bookkeeping, information processing, and medical records management. Students are trained in medical <br />administrative procedures for ambulatory care facilities, medical clinics, dental offices, and hospitals. <br />Anatomy, physiology, pathology, medication terminology professionalism, computer skills, and career <br />development activities are integrated throughout the program. <br />The program is 36 weeks long and consists of eight modules.
