Program Information <br />Health Services Administration- Associate of Applied Science <br />Health Services Administration- Associate of Applied <br />Science <br />Instructional Weeks: 781 <br />Normal Time to Complete: 482 <br />Delivery Method Offered: Online <br />Note: 134 weeks Allied Health diploma transfer in plus 44 weeks HSA = 78 Instructional weeks <br />2Norma/ Time for HSA only is 48 weeks <br />Program Objective <br />The objective of this program is to provide students with a range of administrative knowledge integral to <br />office management in a variety of health care and wellness facilities. The program is designed to prepare <br />students for entry-level administrative positions. <br />This degree level program provides students with general education courses as well as program specific <br />coursework In areas of healthcare administration. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the <br />knowledge and understanding of the health industry laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and <br />regulatory bodies that govern the healthcare professions. Courses also provide students with the <br />opportunity to demonstrate effective communication, customer relations, and organizational and <br />administrative skills. <br />Specific Program Requirements <br />This is a transition program designed primarily for students transferring an allied health diploma totaling <br />33.50 semester credits. Potential students into this AAS degree program must have graduated from a <br />relevant allied health diploma program in Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and <br />Insurance Coding, Medical Office Specialist, and Pharmacy Technician may fully transfer their diplomas <br />into this associate degree program. At a minimum, the allied health diploma must total 33.50 semester <br />credits. <br />Career Outcomes* (SOC Code 11-9111.00) (CIP Code 61.2211) <br />The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level administrative positions, such as office <br />manager, nurse manager, health manager, program manager and practice administrator. <br />Program Outline <br />Program Requirements: 1,320** Contact Hours, 66.50 Semester Credits, and 78 Weeks. <br />General Education Modules <br />General Elective courses are comprised of humanities; mathematics and the sciences; and the social <br />sciences. Students must complete a minimum of 15.00 credits of general education through a <br />combination of coursework and/ or transfer credit.
