Students will as <br />identify basics of financial literacy including budgeting, <br />spending habits and saving. Students will explore ideas <br />about loan repayment and gain understand of Loan <br />interest. Students will also learn about teamwork and <br />conflict resolution in the workplace, as well as explore <br />the idea of drug use and how healthcare providers can <br />identify signs of drug use. <br />Prerequisites: <br />None <br />CPS02014: Career Path Success D <br />Credit Hours: 0.5 <br />Clock Hours: 15 (Theory 15) (Online 15) <br />In this Career Path Success course students will learn <br />and practice many of the soft skills needed to be <br />successful In a healthcare career. Students will Learn <br />about helpful tips for short- and long-term career <br />planning, as well as accountability in the workplace, <br />Students will learn how to locate potential externship <br />and employment opportunities. Students wilt learn why <br />developing good people skills is beneficial in a <br />healthcare environment as well as the necessity of <br />embracing diversity when working with patients and <br />others. Students will <br />investigate a variety of topics related to serving <br />specialized populations in healthcare. Students will <br />examine unique situations relating to the elderly and <br />terminally ill, as well as homeless patients, patients with <br />autism, and other groups with unique healthcare needs. <br />Prerequisites: <br />None <br />CPS01021: Career Path Success A <br />Credit Hours: 05 <br />Clock Hours: 15 (Theory 15) (Online 15) <br />In this Career Path Success course students will learn <br />and practice many of the soft skills needed to be <br />successful in a healthcare career. Students wilt explore <br />attitudes, behaviors and communication skills expected <br />by employers, coworkers and patients. Upon <br />completion of this course, students will better <br />understand the importance of time management, <br />planning and scheduling, and managing distractions. <br />Students wilt also Learn how to prioritize time using <br />various methods, as welt as create personalized <br />schedules and to-do Lists. Students will discuss study <br />skills and learn how to form effective study habits. Students will explore <br />attitudes, behaviors and communication skills expected <br />by employers, coworkers and patients. This course <br />discusses appropriate attire as well as overall <br />professional image for a healthcare environment. <br />Students will explore attitudes, behaviors and <br />communication skills expected by employers, <br />coworkers and patients.
