student submits any learning activity. Students must <br />contribute weekly to the discussion forums. Deadlines <br />are established differently based upon the length of <br />each term. Concorde offers online courses and <br />programs in four -Week and io-Week terms. <br />Four -Week Terms <br />Due dates are established according to the day of the <br />Week the term starts. Weekly modules always begin at <br />12:oo a.m. CST and end at 11:59 p.m. CST. Courses last <br />for four weeks or 20 weekdays. This is divided into four <br />modules within the online course. Each module is five <br />class days in length and does not include weekends. <br />Initial discussion board posts are always due on the <br />third class day of the weekly module. Assignments, <br />assessments and discussion board responses are due <br />on the fifth or last class day of each weekly module. <br />Ten -Week Terms <br />Courses are 10 weeks in length, and the weekly module <br />will always start on Monday (12:oo a.m. CST) to Sunday <br />(i1:59 p.m. CST). Initial discussion board posts are due <br />not later than every Wednesday (=59 p,m, CST), and <br />assignments, assessments and discussion board <br />responses are due by Sunday (11:59 p,m. CST). <br />Students who are considered officially enrolled in the <br />course but do not fulfill all of the coursework required <br />will receive a grade based on the assignments they <br />have completed. <br />Faculty/Student Interaction & <br />Academic Advising <br />Faculty/student interaction is critical for student <br />success in an online environment. Online methods of <br />interaction include online lectures, email, document <br />sharing, and threaded discussions, Faculty members <br />review and respond to student requests within a <br />24-hour time period. <br />Ground students who have opted to take some of their <br />General Education courses online receive the same <br />benefits as fully online students in regard to faculty <br />interaction. However, student advising during midterms <br />and finals will be the responsibility of the campus at <br />which the student is enrolled. <br />Student Services <br />Effective: 07/19/2021 <br />Students enrolled in online courses, whether they are <br />fully online or ground students taking select General <br />Education courses, will be given support and services. <br />Ground students will be provided services directly <br />through their home campus. Each campus has a <br />designated "Online Success Coach" (OSC) Who Will be <br />provided Weekly reports for high -risk students and can <br />provide basic troubleshooting Within the Learning <br />Management System (LMS). The OSC can also refer the <br />student to the Director of Student Affairs located on <br />campus. <br />Fully online students Will have student support access <br />through the Dean of Online Operations. The Dean will <br />provide support to students who may be high -risk, <br />typically via telephone or email, and may also assist <br />students by involving other campus associates, <br />Learning Resources <br />Concorde Career Colleges, Inc., subscribes to multiple <br />databases from Gale Cengage Learning, which is <br />available to all students through the Canvas Learning <br />Management System (LMS). Included in these materials <br />are over 20,000 titles with peer -reviewed full text <br />articles exceeding 8,000 as well as ebooks, <br />experiments, projects, and images. Many of the <br />students' immediate research questions can be met by <br />using these online reference sources. The user-friendly <br />web interface has information from leading medical <br />journals, encyclopedias, newspapers, newsletters, and <br />pamphlets, <br />Learning Outcomes <br />Learning outcomes for online coursework are the same <br />as on- ground coursework. <br />Graduation Requirements <br />Students taking online courses must meet the <br />graduation requirements for their chosen program of <br />study <br />Health Screens <br />Students enrolling in programs where health screens <br />are required will be provided with a list of required <br />immunizations, Students will be required to provide <br />proof of immunization prior to beginning clinical <br />rotations. <br />Uniforms <br />Students enrolling in programs where uniforms are <br />required for clinical rotations are responsible for <br />providing their own clothing in accordance with the <br />established policies of the institution where they will be <br />completing their clinicals, <br />2022-2023 Garden Grove Catalog I publication Date: May 20, 2023 1 Effective July 1, 2022 through June 30. 2023 <br />52 <br />
