ARTICLE IX <br />9.0 HOLIDAYS <br />9.1 Legal holidays observed by full-time employees are as follows: <br />O January I - New Year's Day. <br />O Third (3rd) Monday in January - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday. <br />O Third (3rd) Monday in February - President's Day. <br />O March 31 — Cesar Chavez Day (effective the first (1st) holiday after City Council <br />approval of this 2022-2025 MOU). <br />O Last Monday in May - Memorial Day. <br />O July 4 - Independence Day. <br />O First (1st) Monday in September - Labor Day. <br />O November 11 - Veterans' Day. <br />O Fourth (4th) Thursday in November - Thanksgiving Day. <br />O The Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day. <br />O Last working day before Christmas Day, unless Christmas Day falls on Thursday, <br />in which instance, the day following Christmas Day shall be observed in lieu <br />thereof. <br />O December 25 - Christmas Day. <br />O Two (2) Floating Holidays - Any workday selected by the employee with prior <br />permission of the employee's supervisor. <br />O Every day proclaimed by the Mayor of the City as a holiday for City employees. <br />O Any holiday which falls on a Sunday shall be observed on the following Monday. <br />O Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the Friday preceding <br />the holiday. <br />9.2 Holidays - Shift Personnel and Employees on Alternate Work Schedules. <br />A. Full-time employees on a 5/40 schedule whose regularly scheduled days off are <br />other than Saturday and Sunday shall be entitled to receive fourteen (14) eight (8) <br />hour working days off during the year in lieu of the holiday benefits specified in <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA (CASA) MOU: JULY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025 <br />Page 27 <br />
