Orozco, Norma
From: befranklin dslextreme.com <
Sent: Monday, July 17, 2023 5:10 PM
To: eComment
Cc:
Subject: Santa Ana Council Agenda Item 39 (7/18/23)
Dear Madame Mayor and City Councilmembers,
I am writing to respectfully ask that you support item#39 on your Council agenda, which addresses the ever increasing
number of dangerously intoxicated individuals on Santa Ana streets. These folks are a danger to themselves and also to
Santa Ana residents. In recent years I have seen rocks thrown at cars on multiple occasions, hallucinating pedestrians
walking in front of fast moving traffic, bus stops no longer safe for commuters, and a knife wielding individual race
across six lanes of traffic to threaten people waiting at a bus stop. While I understand that this will not solve all of our
problems, I believe that it's worth a try to see if it helps.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Brett Franklin
Ward 3 resident
i
