ARTICLE V <br />5.0 ASSIGNMENT AND OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br />5.1 Assignment Pay Differentials. <br />Assignment pay differentials, as listed herein and throughout the MOU, will, in each case, <br />be added individually and separately to the employee's base salary. In no event shall one <br />(1) assignment pay differential be added to the employee's base salary as a basis for the <br />calculation of an additional pay differential. <br />A. An employee in the class of Police Services Dispatcher who is continuously and <br />regularly assigned to and actually performing in a lead supervisory and trainer <br />capacity over an assigned shift of Police Services Dispatchers will be paid <br />assignment pay equal to approximately five percent (5.0%) of base pay. A leave of <br />absence for an entire pay period will result in the employee not receiving the pay <br />for being a lead. <br />B. Employees in the class of Forensic Specialist I, who are regularly and continuously <br />assigned to and actually performing duties in a "lead" supervisory capacity over a <br />primary functional unit of Forensic Specialist I employees, will be paid assignment <br />pay equal to approximately five percent (5.0%) of base pay. <br />C. An employee in the class of Police Officer who is continuously and regularly <br />assigned to and actually performing duties of a Corporal will be paid at a rate of <br />approximately two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. <br />If a Corporal is assigned to lead a work unit without a Sergeant, they will be paid <br />an additional approximate two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. At the <br />present time, Directed Patrols and Civic Center Patrol units are examples of such <br />assignments. <br />D. An employee in the class of Correctional Officer who is continuously and regularly <br />assigned to and actually performing duties of a Senior Correctional Officer will be <br />paid approximately two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. <br />E. The Police Chief at their discretion and based on the department's need may assign <br />sworn officers to standby status for non -work days or other days as determined by <br />the Police Chief. Officers thus assigned will be compensated at the rate of two (2) <br />hours of straight time per day of standby duty. Officers assigned to standby status <br />on non -work days will not lose their standby pay when called to duty, if they have <br />been on call for at least six (6) hours when called. If officers on standby status are <br />called to duty after having been on call for less than six (6) hours, they will be paid <br />for their response to work, but not for their standby status. Employees on standby <br />status shall provide the department with a telephone number at which they can be <br />reached. The employee must be able to return to the department within the amount <br />of time they would be able to return if traveling from home. An employee on <br />standby/on-call shall remain fit for duty. Employees on standby are also subject to <br />12 <br />
