RESOLUTION NO.2023-042 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM FOR PACIFIC <br />ELECTRIC (MAPLE STREET) BIKE TRAIL <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021 ("BIL") provides funds to the <br />State of California for grants to federal, state, local and non-profit organizations to acquire, <br />develop and/or maintain motorized and non -motorized trial projects; <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated <br />the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up <br />necessary procedures governing project application under the program; <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the Applicant to certify by resolution the approval of Application(s) <br />before submission of said Application(s) to the State; <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant will enter into a Contract with the State of California to <br />complete the Project; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana requests funding through the Recreational Trails <br />Program ("RTP") Application for Pacific Electric (Maple Street) Bike Trail Improvements <br />("the Project'); and <br />WHEREAS, the Project would include the installation of new lighting, signage and <br />mile markers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana as follows: <br />Section 1. The City of Santa Ana approves the filing of an application for the <br />Pacific Electric Bike Trail Phase 2. <br />Section 2. The City of Santa Ana certifies that the Project is consistent with its <br />general plan or the equivalent planning document. <br />Section 3. The City of Santa Ana certifies it has or will have available prior to <br />commencement of any work on the Project included in this Application, sufficient funds to <br />operate and maintain the Project. <br />Section 4. The City of Santa Ana certifies that it has reviewed, understands, and <br />agrees to the General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural <br />Guide. <br />Resolution No. 2023-042 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
