Instructional methods include classroom, online, and hybrid. <br />Course duration is 24 hours. <br />IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Instructor Certificate Program <br />An Intravenous (IV) Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Instructor is a registered nurse (RN) who <br />instructs other nurses in the techniques and problems involved with IV therapy and blood <br />withdrawal. GMC's certificate program in IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal provides RNs the <br />opportunity to master the instructional knowledge and skills to teach those in the healthcare <br />industry. GMC's IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal program provides state approved curriculum <br />combined with up-to-date technology and equipment, taught in a stress -free, student -centered <br />learning environment. Students receive an Instructor Manual which is comprehensive, with <br />step-by-step guidance. Written exam and practical testing is required. RNs are monitored <br />throughout the training and are provided regular and substantive feedback on knowledge and <br />skill mastery. Once mastery is demonstrated RNs will receive a course completion certificate. <br />Instructional methods include classroom, online, and hybrid. <br />Course duration is 144 hours. <br />Live Stick Skills Laboratory <br />This class is for credentialled professionals looking for refresher live stick skills. Live Stick Skills <br />Laboratory allows students to sign up for the skills laboratory to gain more practice on the <br />essential skills of skin puncture, blood withdrawal, venipuncture, and IV Therapy on <br />mannequins and live. <br />Instructional methods include classroom. <br />Course duration is 6 hours. <br />Venipuncture for Technologists <br />Venipuncture for Technologists course cover all topics required by the California State <br />Department of Public Health to meet the requirements for venipuncture certification. The <br />technologist is introduced to the basic skills necessary to safely perform venipuncture for <br />contrast x-rays and to help ensure patient safety. This course is also a refresher for certified <br />technologists. Successful completion includes full attendance, written quizzes, hands-on skills <br />demonstrations, and live skill assessment. Students receive a course completion certificate. <br />Instructional methods include classroom, online, and hybrid. <br />Course duration is 8 hours. <br />ASRT Approved Category "A" Credit <br />This course has been approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT) for <br />7.5 Category "A" Credits and meets the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) <br />criteria for Category "A" continuing education credit. <br />This course meets California Department of Public Health - Radiologic Health Branch <br />acceptance criteria for continuing education credits required to renew certificates and permits <br />in radiologic technology. <br />GMCCatalog-230101 52 <br />
