GMC's certificate program in IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal provides RNs the <br />opportunity to master the instructional knowledge and skills to teach those in the healthcare <br />industry. GMC's IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal program provides state approved curriculum <br />combined with up-to-date technology and equipment, taught in a stress -free, student -centered <br />learning environment. Students receive an Instructor Manual which is comprehensive, with <br />step-by-step guidance. Written exam and practical testing is required. RNs are monitored <br />throughout the training and are provided regular and substantive feedback on knowledge and <br />skill mastery. Live Stick Skills <br />Laboratory allows students to sign up for the skills laboratory to gain more practice on the <br />essential skills of skin puncture, blood withdrawal, venipuncture, and IV Therapy on <br />mannequins and live. <br />Instructional methods include classroom. <br />Course duration is 6 hours. <br />Venipuncture for Technologists <br />Venipuncture for Technologists course cover all topics required by the California State <br />Department of Public Health to meet the requirements for venipuncture certification. The <br />technologist is introduced to the basic skills necessary to safely perform venipuncture for <br />contrast x-rays and to help ensure patient safety. This course is also a refresher for certified <br />technologists. Successful completion includes full attendance, written quizzes, hands-on skills <br />demonstrations, and live skill assessment.
