Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 11 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 20, 2023 <br />TOPIC: ADA Transition Plan <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Budget Reallocation of Unspent Capital Improvement Funds in the Amount of <br />$68,980 to the ADA Transition Plan (Project No. 23-6069) (Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the reallocation of unspent capital improvement funds in the amount of <br />$68,980 from the Council Chambers Entry Doors and Floor Modifications Project (No. <br />17-0151) to the ADA Transition Plan (Project No. 23-6069). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s Parks, Fleet, and Facilities Services Division oversees City <br />facilities to ensure that all structures and mechanical equipment operate safely and <br />efficiently while meeting all applicable laws and regulations. <br />Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits discrimination <br />based on disability by public entities. The City's ADA Transition Plan (Plan) intends to <br />identify barriers of access to City buildings and facilities. The Plan will also describe the <br />City's efforts to make programs, services, and activities accessible to all members of the <br />public. This will be a living document created to help prioritize future accessibility <br />projects. <br />Staff is requesting approval to reallocate $68,980 in unspent capital improvement funds <br />from the Council Chamber Entry Doors and Floor Modifications Project (No. 17-0151) to <br />support the development of this ADA Transition Plan (Project No. 23-6069). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds will be made available upon City Council approval of the request to reallocate <br />funds in the amount of $68,980 in unspent capital improvement funds from the Council <br />Chambers Entry Doors and Floor Modifications Project (No. 17-0151) to the ADA <br />Transition Plan Project (No. 23-6069).
