Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 13 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />June 20, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of Three Ford Super Duty F-550 Valve Trucks for the Public Works <br />Agency’s Water Resources Division <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Award a Purchase Order to Transwest Truck Center, LLC for Three Ford Super Duty F- <br />550 Valve Trucks in an Amount Not to Exceed $690,000 (Specification No. 23-074) <br />(Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Transwest Truck <br />Center, LLC for three Ford Super Duty F-550 Valve Trucks, in the amount of $673,275, <br />plus a contingency amount of $16,725, for a total amount not to exceed $690,000, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s Fleet Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, <br />maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. <br />The Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the daily operations of the City’s <br />water and sanitary sewer systems. The Division is requesting to purchase three valve <br />trucks for the Water System Maintenance section to replace existing vehicles that have <br />become unreliable and have exceeded their useful life. The vehicles requested house <br />specialized equipment used to exercise water valves and are critical for maintaining the <br />City’s water infrastructure to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality water service <br />to customers in the City of Santa Ana. <br />The Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 23-074 was advertised on April 25, 2023 on the City’s <br />online bid management and publication system. A summary of IFB vendor participation <br />and results is as follows: <br />287 Vendors notified <br />33 Santa Ana vendors notified <br />8 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />2 Bids received <br />0 Bids received from Santa Ana vendors
