Proposal to provide <br />On -Call Landscape Architectural Services — RFP No. 22-097 <br />Sample Scope of Services and Project Deliverables <br />The following sample scope of services and project deliverables for each phase of work is provided to <br />share with you how our team would approach preparing construction documents for a park project. <br />Phase I — Preliminary Investigation <br />Task 1 — Start Up Meeting <br />The DEA project team will meet with City staff to begin preparations for the park renovation project. This <br />meeting will serve as an opportunity to acquire relative input about the project area from various City <br />departments including guidelines for implementation and scheduling, in addition to identifying key contacts. <br />This meeting will also provide a review of the scope of services, including optional items / phasing, content, <br />and objectives of any applicable environmental documents (by others), existing plans, surveys, utility <br />connections, ROW mapping, maintenance, construction scheduling and budget. <br />Task 2 - Tovographic Survey <br />Design level topographic surveys will be performed within the project limits. Cross -sections will be taken and <br />will include curb and gutter, flowlines, edge of pavement, walks, surface visible utilities, fences, gates, drainage <br />structures with inverts, signals, signs, driveways, H/C ramps, crosswalks, water main location (if marked), and <br />other surface visible features. The topographic survey data will be incorporated into the survey base map and <br />delivered in AutoCAD format. <br />Task 3 - Site Analysis / Prelimina!y Engineering Report <br />The DEA project team will complete a field assessment utilizing available mapping to verify existing site <br />conditions and generally familiarize ourselves with the site. Opportunities such as view corridors, view impacts, <br />areas of sensitivity, and areas most suitable for park amenities or design elements will be considered during <br />our site analysis. This task will also include obtaining soils data for use in the preparation of information to <br />conform with AB 1881 (for irrigation purposes). <br />Task 4 — Project Team Meetings <br />The DEA team will meet with the City at least one (1) time per review period (at each submittal). <br />Phase 11 - Construction Documents <br />The following tasks include each anticipated plan to be provided at the conclusion of the construction <br />document phase. We are showing these herewith to provide a description of each plan; however, only the <br />appropriate percentage of work will be performed during each phase as outlined by the City (30%, 60%, 90%, <br />95%, and 100%). <br />Task 5 - Precise Grading, Paving and Drainage Plan <br />DEA will prepare a 1 "=20' scale precise grading, paving and drainage plan for the project area depicting <br />existing and proposed contours, angled parking areas, slopes, top of curb elevations, drainage patterns, typical <br />cross sections, existing and proposed utilities and proposed civil related improvements including pavement, <br />curb and gutter, valley gutters, hardscape, flatwork and handicap ramps for the project site. The plan will <br />consider ADA requirements for accessibility both onto and throughout the project site. <br />This plan will also specify any necessary drainage improvements on -site such as storm drain, inlet / outlet <br />design and post construction Best Management Practices such as bioretention basins and infiltration swales <br />/ trenches in order to minimally impact the existing conditions while accomplishing proper water conveyance <br />and water quality. Also identified within this plan will be any objects or encumbrances that shall be removed or <br />relocated within the project area. <br />Task 6 - Utility Coordination/Research <br />DEA will coordinate the design effort with the utility purveyors within the project limits. DEA will provide hard <br />copies and electronic copies of each submittal of the on -site improvement plans for purposes of analyzing the <br />relocation (if required) of utilities. Utility letters will be sent to each purveyor requesting maps and plans as part <br />of our research task. <br />David Evans and Associates, Inc. I March 15, 2023 1 11 <br />
