V.PVTTV <br />DOWNEY <br />MEASURE S <br />PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />DOWNEY, CA <br />NOTABLE INFO & STATS: <br />Client: City of Downey <br />Timeline: 2018-2020 <br />Project Size: (Multiple Project Sites) <br />RRM SERVICES PROVIDED: <br />Landscape Architecture, <br />Civil Engineering, Surveying <br />Lk <br />X <br />RRM was selected by the City of Downey to prepare park <br />improvement plans for three neighborhood parks: Discovery Park, <br />Furman Park, and Independence Park. RRM's team successfully <br />generated all three park plans from schematic design to construction <br />drawings within the six-month timeline stressed by the City. The <br />various park designs carefully considered the existing uses of the <br />parks by the surrounding community resulting in the preservation <br />of the original atmosphere and overall functionality of each park. At <br />Furman Park, with the replacement and upsize of four new picnic <br />shelters equipped with electrical connections, more picnic tables <br />and barbeques, and a new restroom building, events of various sizes <br />can now be held at the park. Recreational facilities were improved <br />by adding a multi -sport Court, resurfaced sports courts, upgraded <br />backstops and fencing, and improved fitness circuit. The addition of a <br />synthetic turf soccer field is the highlight at Discovery Park, providing <br />the community the ability to play harder on a new durable surface <br />and play later under the upgraded Musco Sports Lighting. <br />10 11 r r r m <br />
